Very Worthwhile Read....But

I enjoyed the book and would recommend it for anyone with ties or a general curiosity about the Philippines. I've been married to a Filipina for six years and thought it would be good to know more about her culture and homeland. The book served this purpose well. My only complaint is that the author allowed his opinions too much representation. The book is of course his interpretation of US/Filipino history and so one would expect it to have his personal slant but I would have been appreciative if it had been inserted less forcefully so as to not distract me from the narrative. Besides that shortcoming and that the book is a bit dated now, I thought it very worthy of four stars.

Well worth the reading.

Others have already written extensive reviews of the contents of this book, all pretty much agreeing on the details. I wanted to add my voice to the chorus to say only that the book is well worth the reading for anyone planning on having anything whatsoever to do with the Philippines, and reading even only a chapter or two will help the average person come away with a much greater understanding of what the Philippines is all about today and how it got where it is.
I would highly recommend starting at two places many casual readers usually skip - the preface and introduction - as the points laid out therein give a great overview of the final conclusions of the book, which the rest of the chapters then explain in greater detail.
Highly valuable for both business and government employees about to enter the Philippines for the first - or hundreth - time, and should be required reading for all military personnel about to embark to this region of the world. I personnaly read this book after having already visited the country nine times, and yet gained a wealth of knowledge and insight that I would never have found otherwise. Well worth the read.

If you read one book on the PI, this is the one! Explains from the time the Spanish took over to Marcos/Aquino era. Very, very accurate and compelling, especially if you like politics and/or history.

Wanna' Make Comics? Start Here...

I brought an advance copy of this book into a college illustration class I teach. The class was quite impressed. In fact, two students went onto Amazon online and bought it instantly. Usually I discourage shopping during class, but Drawing Words and Writing Pictures is an answered prayer for the aspiring comics artist.

This is an ideal text for a 15-week class in comics. It also has guidance for starting an informal collective class. It includes suggestions for the stereotypical solitary artist, who the authors are gracious enough to refer to as ronin. There is a wealth of info on the narrative process, page design, lettering, pens, and even Photoshop scanning advice.

The authors' individual web pages present a lot this DIY info, so search out their sites, see if their philosophies appeal to you. The book contains multiple perspectives from two remarkable artists. Matt Madden is into "formalist" styles, working within Houdini-like constraints. Jessica Abel's La Perdida is one of the great masterpieces of the long-form graphic novel.

From George Herriman to Robert Crumb, Charles Burns, to Kaz and John Porcillino, the book is crammed with a diversity of styles. Wide-ranging and inclusive, no matter what one's preferred comics style, from manga to superhero to alternative, you will find something to like here.

Instructors will find the bibliography alone is worth the price of admission, I teach a seven-week college comics course each fall. My plan is to email the students over the summer, tell them to get this book and get started on the exercises. The ronins will get a head start and their classmates will lose face.

Scott McCloud's Making Comics is also a valuable college course text for serious students, who have some background in reading comics and thinking critically about the artform. Drawing Words and Writing Pictures, however, has practical exercises for students at any level. Highly recommended.

Don't miss this one.

I've bought just about all the "How To Draw Comics" type books out there, and they are mostly pretty mediocre. They have some good info in them, but leave many more questions unanswered. This is definitely the best of the bunch, especially since it talks about much more than just the drawing part of comic creation. Panel design, inking, lettering, etc. is all in here. The presentation and writing style is nice and it flows well.

The only real complaints I have about this book, were mentioned by one of the other reviewers, and I have to agree: 1) there is a LOT of wasted space in this book, where the print and/or pictures take up like half or 2/3 of the page. And 2) the type face is a little small. This wouldn't be such a problem if the books dimensions didn't make it a little unwieldy and big. So, the impressive page count isn't as impressive as I previously thought. If they fixed those two problems, I'd most likely give it 5 stars.

Problems aside, this is definitely not a book you want to pass on. Check it out and I'm sure you'll be pleased.

A Welcome Addition to Your Collection

I am a BIG fan of both Abel and Madden's work. I go to BOTH of their websites several times a month and "La Perdida" and "99 Ways To Tell A Story" are part of my collection of graphic novels.

This book is great for high school & college art teachers who want to teach sequential art to their classes. I believe the content is particularly suited for art majors that are interested in the finer points of visual narrative. And you can tailor your curriculum around the chapters if you so choose. If you want to use these for middle school kids I think simpler steps need to be added. I like the fact that people can form groups: "Nomads" OR go do it alone: "Ronins" and follow the lessons independently.

This book is NOT bad.

All the chapters and lessons are made to be studied in sequence and if you are an old timer to comic art you can easily skip to other chapters; which I did alot. A seasoned pro will probably go to the chapters that interest him/ her the most. One chapter that I REALLY like was called "Black Gold" the chapter on using and inking with a brush.

The other chapters on page layout, panel construction, character design,
facial features/ figure anatomy were VERY good.

My ONLY complaint was the layout of the book. My [web]comic artist collegues & I felt there was TOO much white space waisted on each page, the typeface was too small and that neon orange color used throughout the book distracting. It was hard to read and strained the eyes.

Plus being a webcomic artist myself I wanted to see MORE about using the computer for making comics. It covered scanning, re-sizing, adjusting your line art in PhotoShop, etc. The chapter on lettering was good; but they tended to downplay the use of COMPUTER LETTERING. They make a STRONG point in favor of HAND LETTERED comics; but it would have been nice if they address lettering on the computer as well.

My Suggestions:
A. Read the book cover to cover.
B. Do the Exercises. I am in a NOMAD group; plus I'm doing the RONIN thing as well.
C. Do the Homework.
D. Go back to your favorite chapters again and again.
E. Cross reference this with OTHER books on how to make comics.

This book is a welcome addition to any comic artist's arsenal of graphic narrative/ sequential art references. Use it along with books by Will Eisner & Scott McCloud and you'll be fully versed in the Language of Comic Art.

No topic could be more demanding or fraught with subjectivity--not to mention mysticism--but Crick insists upon the value of rational thought, logic, and experimental verification. This perspective underlies the "Astonishing Hypothesis," which states "that `You,' your joys and your sorrows, your memories and your ambitions, your sense of personal identity and free will, are in fact no more than the behavior of a vast assembly of nerve cells and their associated molecules." How's that for reductionism? But think about it. Could anything actually be more astonishing than learning that neurons make, store, and retrieve memories? Create moods? Or, and this is Crick's focus, interpret light as images? Given the impossibility of tackling consciousness in its entirety, Crick has chosen to concentrate on one crucial manifestation, visual awareness, a process far more complicated than most of us realize. Flawed, but still worth it

The astonishing hypothesis referred to in the title of Crick's book is that all of your phenomenological experience is ultimately reducible to "no more than the behavior of a vast assembly of nerve cells and their associated molecules." So, just how is consciousness neurally instantiated? What the reader should take away from the book is just how difficult of a question this is.

Francis Crick was a thorough going empiricist and he strongly believed that the experimental method was the only way of successfully tackling the problem of consciousness. Along with his close collaborator, Christof Koch, Crick chose visual awareness (rather than say, self-awareness) as the main point of attack. The reason for this is because the visual system is relatively well understood and much easier to study in the laboratory.

Visual processing is an extremely complex business. Essentially, the visual system has to create a fairly high-fidelity representation of the environment (a model) from an array of heterogeneous light patches falling onto the retina. A staggering number of computational processes need to be performed in order for you to become aware of the final output. These processes operate unconsciously, in massively parallel streams. So, what we finally become aware of (our model) is the end result of a great many hidden computations. Much has been learned about the details in which the various features of a visual scene are decomposed and processed, but what remains a mystery is how we ultimately see something (i.e., become visually aware of it). As Crick says, what is required is an account of our "explicit, multilevel, symbolic interpretation of a visual scene."

"The Astonishing Hypothesis" does not provide anything like a Crick-Koch `theory' of consciousness. In fact, Crick goes to some length to eschew any precise definitions or theories. Any such purported theories, he believed, were pre-mature. (The closest that he comes to presenting some kind of a theory is his `Processing Postulate'). Instead what the book offers is a general strategy for submitting the problem to experimental study. Here the idea is to look for neural signatures of awareness or more technically the neural correlates of consciousness (abbreviated NCCs). In a nutshell (excuse the oversimplification), here is what NCCs are all about: submit to study some visual phenomenon which has an ambiguous interpretation (e.g., the Necker cube which can be perceived in two possible ways) and simultaneously obtain measures of neural activity. Some portion of the neural activity associated with the processing of an ambiguous figure will remain invariant (that portion which corresponds to the unchanging retinal input) while another, minimal portion of the neural activity will vary along with the percept. This variant, minimal portion is a good bet for representing a NCC, a neural signature of awareness. Finding a NCC can also tell us many other interesting things, such as whether or not there any special properties of the neurons in question, whether they are located in particular places or cortical layers and so on. And, a similar mechanism which underlies visual awareness is likely to underlie other forms of awareness. [Note that this addresses what David Chalmers has called the `easy' problem of consciousness and does not touch on the `hard' problem. There is a possibility however that Chalmers' hard problem is ill-posed and that there may in fact not be a hard problem to address].

Crick presents the results of many interesting research studies that bear on the problem of consciousness. He devotes some space to the issue of temporal binding and the 40-Hz oscillation hypothesis (or more precisely, the gamma-band oscillation hypothesis) as well as the potential importance of reverberatory thalamo-cortical circuits (see also the work of Gerald Edelman). Crick also speculates about the possibly important role played by the claustrum in the generation of consciousness (something he thought about a lot just prior to his death). Unfortunately for the general reader, this comes only near the end of the book, after a rather protracted discussion of the psychology and neurobiology of vision. For a reader who is unfamiliar with neuroscience, all the hard work done to get to the final portion of the book may produce a low pay-off. It seems that Crick could have got the main point of the book across just as strongly while omitting some of the technical details along the way. For those who have some familiarity with the subject matter the book will actually be an interesting and concise review but since the work was intended for a general readership one must judge it according to that criterion (and this is one of the book's flaws).

Francis Crick died in 2004. This marked a tremendous loss to the field as Crick was blessed with a brilliant mind and he undoubtedly had it in him to make many more important contributions. He brought his enthusiasm to the study of consciousness and made it a bona-fide scientific problem. For this, among other things, he should be celebrated.

A few final remarks about the book's title are in order. First, "The Scientific Search for the Soul" is a sensationalist title that was more likely than not the publisher's idea. Second: as most of the people working in the neurosciences adopt a materialist perspective (the most famous exception of course was Sir John Eccles), the purported astonishing aspect of the hypothesis has sometimes been questioned. And yet, this idea (that our consciousness, in all its richness, is in some mysterious way the result of biophysical processes) really should be astonishing. It is easy to be familiar with the workings of the brain and still slip into old habits of thought, implicitly believing that there really is some homunculus in the head who is doing all of the perceiving. As Crick says, "A man may, in religious terms, be an unbeliever but psychologically he may continue to think of himself in much the same way as a believer does, at least for everyday matters."

It is interesting to speculate about whether our experience of ourselves would change even in the hypothetical case that we did have a complete neurobiological theory of consciousness.

The Not So Astonishing Hypothesis

I purchased "The Astonishing Hypothesis" by Francis Crick with great expectations. I am very much interested in the scientific search for what some call "soul" and was under the impression that Crick (co-discoverer of the double helix DNA structure) had marshalled plausible or powerful evidence that the soul merely is a person's mental activities that result from the behavior of nerve cells, glial cells, atoms, molecules and ions that influence glial or nerve cells. For the most part, mutatis mutandis, I affirm Crick's hypothesis. However, I don't think "The Astonishing Hypothesis" comes anywhere close to providing information that supports Crick's hypothesis. His detour on how the human brain sees is at times interesting, but ultimately not all that helpful in illuminating Crick's "astonishing hypothesis." The book (page 259) supplies a reasonable answer to presupposed objections via-a-vis Crick's modus operandi for supporting his hypothesis. The scientist explains why he chose the visual system to buttress his hypothesis. It evidently yields most easily to "experimental attack" and is only the start (i.e. a prolegomenon) of explaining what soul is. The work's provisional nature is to be applauded. However, since the attack on "soul" has just started, it seems that Crick should have been more modest in his claims and not proclaimed the death of the human soul (as the term is commonly understood) until a full "experimental attack" of the brain had been carried out. Personally, I believe that theoreticians who have undertaken studies in the philosophy of mind offer more reasonable alternatives or explanations for "soul" than Crick does. The concept of supervenience more adequately accounts for "mind" or "soul" than "The Astonishing Hypothesis" does. While "mindness" is probably a higher-level phenomenon based on a lower-level phenomenon, as are qualia, it is my belief that mind is not reducible to brain states. But without the brain, mind does not exist: mind supervenes on the brain. William Hasker's "The Emerging Self" satisfactorily develops these points.

Not a light read

Francis Crick is probably best known to most of us from high school biology classes for his pioneer work with James Watson on the structure and function of DNA. In his book the Astonishing Hypothesis he tackles a topic hardly less complex, the origin of awareness. Although the subtitle would suggest that the discussion is the scientific proof for the existence of the soul--and possibly thereby the existence of God--the reader who takes up the book with this expectation will be resoundingly disappointed. Instead he or she will find a very convoluted discussion of brain neurophysiology, the theoretical basis of sensory systems, the attempts to synthesize human neural function in computers, and the author's personal theory of free will. What if anything any of this has to do with the soul is anybody's guess.
On the whole, I have no quarrel with the author's choice of subject matter, but I found the book at times overly in depth and at others too brief in its discourse. I also found that the train of thought was a little confusing, as though the author went off on interesting tangents at great lengths and could only with great effort get back on track. It was as though he could have used a better outline to begin with or had attempted to cover too much in too small a space. It might also have arisen from his need to extensively paraphrase the work of others in fields in which he himself has less expertise. The discussion of the neural function of the human brain, particularly the oddities of its dysfunction were quite good. Indeed I felt it was an excellent update on what I had learned years ago in A&P for nursing school. The discussion of neural networks and artificial intelligence got a little too detailed for me, but if you're the type who finds Roger Penrose a pleasant afternoon's read, then Crick's account might actually be a little too light minded for you.
In general I found the writer's style was labored enough for it to require a concerted effort to plow my way through it. It took several attempts, during which I read several other books on wholly different topics, before I could actually finish it. I even went to the extreme of taking it with me to my health club where I would be a "captive audience" with nothing better to take my mind off the boredom of my half hour on the tread mill. On the whole, I preferred boredom. While I've no doubt the gentleman is a very learned individual, I've undertaken more readable books on the subject of mind and awareness. States of Mind by Conlon and Hobson would probably be more understandable by and enjoyable to the average reader, although this book too tends to try to cover too much in too little space.

Joy For Two – Life Planning, Not Retirement Planning

At 61 ¾ years old, I feel like one of Allison’s examples in this Joy book(short for ‘The Joy Of Strategy). I am like the musician who went into Accounting. As a child I was told that Music is a good avocation, but not a good career. I can still feel the deflating effect that had on me, at the time. Well, now I've been doing the 'Accounting' thing for 30 years. It paid the bills as we raised 2 boys, but it might not pay the future medical bills if I stay on this path.

I have spent so much time studying and working to 'Corporate Strategy' in my (too)many years as a bean counter and I have made several attempts to apply these 'strategic' theories for my own, personal life planning, but it always felt like being on the job, just doing the same s@!#! that I do at work. My oldest son strongly suggested Allison’s book to me. It turns out that he really knew, and cared, more about me than I realized. Her book is a 'spot on' fit. Allison, has an integrity of concern and a spirituality to her advice. She has taken Strategic thinking out of the boardroom, and brought it into my personal life.

Now, my Wife and I are both working to apply the Joy Process in finding our intended path into the future. Allison’s process is certainly serious and proper, and requires significant effort, but its an effort that my Wife and I look forward to each day. It has been a strategic planning process that revealed its promise from the start. For us, it generates its own enthusiasm. And just FYI, Allison has given us some good, specific advice for our ‘Joy For Two’ adventure. I believe this advice can be found on her website. For people in our situation, its worth reading.

In my subject title I said that this is Life Planning, not Retirement Planning. My point is that my Wife and I want to live the rest of our lives, really engaged in our lives; not just planning for how we can afford to sit in rocking chairs for the remaining summers that we have left. I do think that going through this Joy process is a must-do foundation for good Retirement planning.

Okay, so this is my first ‘book review’. I’ve read many good books, but haven’t been motivated to give feedback, until now. So I guess to confirm my feelings, I Really Recommend this book, or Highly Recommend, whatever sounds best.

P.S. – I certainly don’t want to cast any dispersions on the field of Accountancy or make any judgments about people who want to retire on rocking chairs and TV trays. I’m just saying, you don’t have to, if you don’t want to.

"There is surely nothing quite so useless as doing with great efficiency what should not be done at all." -- Peter Drucker

I selected the Drucker quotation for the title of this review because so many of the decisions that people make are [begin italics] inappropriate [end italics] to the given objectives. We make hundreds of decisions each day, at work and elsewhere. Some have implications and potential consequences much more serious than do others. In this volume, Allison Rimm offers what she characterizes as "a structured approach that guides you, step by step, through the process of defining what is most important to you and what you must do to get it. The world's most successful businesses do this as a matter of course, and there is no more essential business than the business of your life." Quite true.

Rimm recommends an eight-step process by which to formulate "a business plan for life." Think of her as a travel agent to help work out all the details of what will become a journey of discovery while achieving personal growth and professional development.

You are about to change your own little corner of the world."

Of course, the details of such a journey vary from one pilgrim to the next. Dreams are very important and I agree with Allison Rimm that they should not be left to chance, that achieving our goals doesn't just happen. "It requires a strategy," an appropriate strategy. There's one other point that needs to be stressed. We interact with dozens of different people each day. Whether or not we achieve our own goals will probably be determined by the extent to which we help others to achieve their goals. Therefore, I hope that those who read this book will make effective use of the information, insights, and counsel it provides but I also hope that they share what they have learned with others who also need "a business plan" for their lives.

The best! Period.

Allison's book is a must-read for those who aspire to live a fulfilling life. Her work tremendously helps the readers in systematically laying the plan for a joyful life by exploring one's inner self, a task often ignored in our culture. We make plans for birthday parties, anniversaries and vacations. But how often do we sit down and make a plan to discover who we are, what we want out of life and what truly makes us happy? Allison's book not only helps us answer these questions but her work also assists us on building a strategy to live a truly happy life.

Gr 8 Up—Les Misérables relates the tales of those who suffer the injustices and moral qualms of life. The manga primarily focuses on the love and struggles of Jean Valjean, Fantine, Cosette, and Marius, before and during the Paris Uprising. While some attractive art nicely expresses their plights and eventual ascent, certain design choices gives the atmosphere too pleasant a feel. A similarly upbeat style works much better for Pride and Prejudice, which takes full advantage of manga's characteristics. The flowery decorations, screentones, chibi form create a fun and charming tone for this love story and work of social commentary. When Elizabeth encounters Mr. Darcy, they hardly get along, yet slowly their original perceptions change. Sadly, much of their witty dialogue is condensed because of the limited space. King successfully refines these hefty texts down to their core elements. Although both have specific problems regarding characterization, the emotions remain true. Between a quick pace and the use of common English, these adaptations are a much easier format for the reluctant reader, and teens, to enjoy. Manga?? Seriously?? Oh, yes...

I've never read any manga before - in truth, I wasn't at all sure what it really is other than being some form of graphic novel, but honestly! Look at the cover! How could I possibly resist?

Once I'd worked out that you have to read this from back to front and from right to left, I settled down to see just how awful it would be. And for the first few pages I really thought the answer might be pretty awful! And then...and then...I began to smile, then giggle, then chuckle unrestrainedly...and the sun came out, gloom was banished from the world and joy began to burst out all over! This is an utterly charming, witty and affectionate adaptation with some really fabulous artwork by Po Tse, (who is apparently a manga-ka, whatever that might be). Apart from the cover all the artwork is black and white, which apparently is the norm for manga, but this really doesn't detract from the enjoyment. Most of the social commentary has been thrown out, but all the fun and romance of the original has been retained - enhanced, even - by the great marrying together of the original text with a beautifully modern outlook. I can see how this adaptation might annoy Austen purists (and that usually includes me). But this is done with such skill and warmth that it completely won me over.

Wickham is deceptively sweet-looking while Darcy is outrageously sexy, and Lizzie's huge eyes twinkle with mischief. Some of the pages made me positively guffaw with laughter. Mrs Bennet is a joy - drawn to perfection and often appearing in odd corners of pages just being her awesomely awful self. Because it's so flowing there can be a tendency to speed through the pages, especially for someone like me who's not used to the graphic format - but it's essential to slow down and really look, 'cos there's all kinds of little humorous touches in the backgrounds. We often say a book is a 'real page-turner' - well, this one certainly is. I found I couldn't wait to get to some of the big scenes - the ball, the proposal, the wet shirt scene (oh yes, it may not be in the original, but it's become an essential scene now!).

Clever, lovely, light, refreshing - can you tell that I really enjoyed this? I hope, I hope, I HOPE they're going to do Northanger Abbey...

Overwrought and Overdramatic

Manga Classics: Pride & Prejudice is definitely not intended for Austen fans or for adults. This is meant as an introduction for younger readers to a timeless classic. But even keeping that in mind, this graphic novel did miss the mark on several accounts.

Where it succeeds is in the adaptation - Stacy King did an excellent job of keeping the story intact, the dialogue verbatim from the book, while still condensing the story to a manageable-sized book. The story was very understandable even with the omissions and loss of several characters (e.g., Charlotte is nearly non existent).

Where it ultimately failed for me is in the illustrations - most of the characters look to be in a state of constant and very vapid emotional distress. While very in keeping with the Chinese manga/manhua style (picture a martial arts piece from the 1970s and you get an idea), it really detracts from the whole point of British manners and understated emotions and ultimately makes the characters seem pretty stupid. Not surprisingly, the characters who remained truest to the source book are Lydia and Mrs. Bennett (the most over the top in the book). Ironically, Jane and Lizzy are actually more overdramatic than Lydia!

This is the third graphic novel adaptation I've read of Pride and Prejudice recently and I can't help but feel that it doesn't quite work as well as the others did. The source story needs to remain intact but also keep the feel of the original - and that is completely lost in the illustrations. Elizabeth is ditzy, Jane cries and emotes her fate better than a Shakespearan actor, and Darcy is so anxiety-stricken that he actually runs away and hides at the balls. I can only imagine someone reading this for the first time wondering what all the fuss is about with Mr. Darcy when he seems like a nervous nelly for most of the manga.

The style felt like it was greatly influenced by shoujo manga masters of the past like Ryoko Ikeda and her Rose of Versailles series. Lots of roses, sparkling eyes, and huge hairdos. I grew up and loved Rose of Versailles but sadly this manga adaptation is missing the depth and strength of that seminal title.

Would I give this to my 11 year old? I'm not sure this would show her why Jane Austen is so beloved any more than a Cliff's Notes would. Great adaption by Stacy King but the illustrations really let the story down. This is one of the instances where I think a Japanese manga artist might have done a better job with the subtlety of the story than the manhua artist.

A take on Austen probably more for younger readers than for seasoned ones

First, a word of warning: the way this book is printed means you have to read it from right to left, and from "end" to "beginning". If you're not to manga, this can be a little unsettling. Just a little. The pages were drawn that way, though; neither they nor the panels are mirrored, which is good.

This would make a nice enough introduction to Jane Austen's work for younger readers, although an older audience with proper knowledge of the book will likely find it lacking: obviously, due to the format, some shortcuts had to be taken, and as a result, some secondary characters aren't given the spotlight they'd deserve, some scenes just don't happen, and Elizabeth didn't appear as smart as she did in the novel. The focus remains on Elizabeth and Darcy, but some flavour is definitely lost here. On the bright side, it probably helps making things clearer for a reader who might be confused otherwise by all the secondary characters gravitating around the main couples in the story. Dialogue was also fairly well-respected, from what I could tell (I haven't read the novel in a few years, though, so I might be mistaken).

I found the artwork reminiscent of older shoujo manga styles, with a touch of modern lines. Not unpleasant at all, depending on what a reader's preferred kind of style is, of course; personally, I quite enjoyed it—and was totally biased towards Mr. Bennet, I admit, whom I've always liked because he genuinely cared for his daughters; here, he was all dapper and stylish to boot. Typical manga comical codes work especially well here for characters such as Mr. Collins or Mrs. Bennet, who were eally hilarious. On the other hand, I didn't like how Darcy was portrayed: too often he seemed more of the emotional, slightly panicky type, when I've always perceived him in the original novel as proud and somewhat aloof. I couldn't reconcile this vision with the Darcy I grew to know when I first read the real Pride and Prejudice.

It was a pleasant read, and one I'd recommend to people who'd like to be reconciled to the original novel; however, it has its shortcomings, and if you feel you won't like a script taking a few liberties with what inspired it, it might not be so interesting.

Best collection of informations for paed surg exam

This is one of the best collection of information for any paediatric surgery examination.Has covered the length and breath of the subject in interactive question and answer format, sufficient for any exam in the subject.Many thanks to the editors and authors for all the hard work.The only thing that can probably be improved is the print format.Passed the FRCS paeditric surgery theory (part 1)examination because of this, cannot praise enough.
